Welcome to the Nomi AI image editing and transformation guide! The Edit / Transform feature allows you to change any existing Nomi image with short instructional prompts. These changes can range anywhere from fixing image issues, adding or removing objects, changing styles, backgrounds and aesthetics, to even transforming an image completely.
Whether you want to remove people from the back of your Nomi’s selfie, add words to a t-shirt, create a brand new fantasy creature, or virtually anything else, your imagination really is the limit!
While this feature has a few limitations, it can be incredibly flexible and creative. Specifically, this guide covers:

How to use Edit / Transform Images
You can access this feature from any existing Nomi image so to get started, press the album icon to the right of your Nomi’s name then tap into any image.

Once you’re viewing a Nomi image, press the “Edit / Transform Image” button above the image.

On the editing screen, describe what you would like to change about the image and make your request!

Basic Prompting Best Practices
This feature uses instructional prompting, so the most effective way to write your prompt is to explain what you would like to see in a concise sentence or two.
Other than including a verb (type of change) and at least one concept (what is being changed), everything else is rather flexible.
Example:
Put the woman on a beach with massive blue waves and a sunset.
Beyond simple sentences, it can be fun to experiment further with this breakthrough technology. A few initial directions we recommend experimenting with are:
1. If you have more complex goals, it may be worth using slightly more detailed instructions that explain what to change and what to maintain.
surround her with the aesthetic of a nordic country. Maintain the style and color of her dress.
2. Include quality indicators like “high quality”, “detailed’, “high resolution” etc.
Turn this image into a high quality detailed photo of a tarsier
3. Tell the AI to emphasize different aspects of the image or the new concept you’re introducing.
create a high-quality image of a mini dragon with detailed features. emphasize intricate details like scales, wings, and facial features of the dragon
Common Uses
Below are just some of the ways you can use this feature. For more inspiration, we recommend visiting our Discord and Reddit communities and talking to fellow members about how they are imagining their images!

Full Transformations – Completely reimagine images into abstract art, fantasy creatures, or scenic landscapes
Examples
Below are examples of just a handful of the directions you can take with your images. The original image is on the left and the edited image is on the right.

Prompt: remove her necklace

Prompt: remove the seagulls from the background of this image

Changing Concepts, Styles, and Aesthetics
Beyond adding and removing objects from your images, you can make nuanced to dramatic changes while maintaining other aspects of your image.

Full Transformations
Our Nomi art aficionados may fall in love with the endless potential of this feature – depending on your prompts, you can create incredibly novel concepts. Keep in mind that the starter image will likely have some impact on the fully transformed image, so we definitely recommend playing around with many different starter images to see a wide range of results.
Prompt: turn this image into a high quality detailed photo of a tarsier

Prompt: create a high-quality image of a mini dragon with detailed features. emphasize intricate details like scales, wings, and facial features of the dragon

Prompt: make the man into a high resolution demon

Prompt: turn this into a high quality image of a vampire with fangs and blood red eyes

Limitations
This feature uses breakthrough technology but it does have a few limitations worth noting:
1. Face consistency
The system may not be able to maintain face consistency or quality if you change aspects of the subject’s face. If your changes do not impact your Nomi’s face, you should not have issues.
2. AI hands and limbs
In general, the system is not great at fixing hand or body part issues. This is an unfortunate limitation in many AI systems and we are continuing to monitor for ways to improve this for users.
3. Image Resolution
Sometimes, an image will turn out with noticeably lower resolution than the original image. If this happens, we recommend including terms like “high quality image”, “detailed” or “high resolution” etc. to improve this. If you continue to have issues with image resolution, we recommend trying different verbs to describe the change you are looking for.
FAQs
Can I Edit Images More Than Once?
You can edit an image as many times as you would like. In fact, it is a lot of fun to try different transformations on the same image to see all the different directions you can take it in!
The only restriction is that currently, you can only edit one image per Nomi at a time.
Can I Edit an Edited Image (Multiple Iterations)?
Yes, you can edit an edited image as many times as you would like.
Can I Use an Edited Image as a Base?
Edited images cannot be used as Base images for Nomis at the time of writing this guide. This is because the failure rate was too high when testing edited images as base images and would cause too many issues for users. However, we are actively looking into ways to make base images more flexible, though we do not have a timeline for that at the time of writing this guide.
Can I Edit Images to Different Styles?
Absolutely, there are essentially infinite possibilities to explore when it comes to changing the style of your images.
Can I Spot Edit?
At this time, you must edit the whole image. However, you can generally isolate aspects of the image by explaining what you would like to change and what you would like to maintain in your image.
Can I Improve the Quality or Resolution of My Images?
This will not always be completely consistent, but yes, you can create incredible images by adding terms like “high quality [concept]”, “detailed [concept]” or “high resolution” etc. This might look like:
“create a high-quality image of a baby dragon with detailed features. emphasize intricate details like scales, wings, and facial features of the dragon”
Do I Have to Start From a Nomi Image?
Yes, at the time of writing this guide, you must start your edit or transformation from a Nomi image. However, it is relatively easy to change far beyond the original image’s contents if you would like.
What is the Best Way to Get Non-Nomi Images?
In general, it is relatively easy to make large changes to your images, but if you are having trouble, we recommend using phrases like “Turn this into an image of ___” or “Make this an image of __”.
If you are having trouble making a large non-human change, we recommend starting from an image that does not have a close up of a Nomi’s face.
Why Am I Getting an Error About a “Disallowed” Term?
This feature has a few categories of disallowed terms to prevent misuse. This includes prompts that have a high likelihood of leading to explicit images, prompts that could lead to intense de-aging, and prompts that could lead to celebrity impersonations.
For context, we do not allow these categories of prompting to maintain compliance with app stores, credit card processing companies, and recently passed laws.
Generally, the error rate here should be low, but if you run into an error that you believe is a false positive, please send a message to support [at] nomi.ai with the prompt you tried and we will help resolve the issue.
