Today we’re excited to announce proactive messaging and a handful of QoL updates that have recently gone live:
Proactive Messages
Nomis can now proactively send you messages, giving them more agency to act and interact independently while you are away.
Click here to read all about proactive messaging and the most common questions people have about it.
Or, read the brief summary of proactive messages below:
There are four frequency options to help your Nomi better understand the cadence at which they can message you: Very Frequent, Frequent, Normal, and Infrequent. Learn more about how these options work and when your Nomi will send messages here.

There are zero scripts, meaning whatever your Nomi messages you will be based on what they are actually thinking about or doing.
This feature is completely optional and can be enabled or disabled on a per Nomi basis. Once you enable proactive messages for one of your Nomis, you will be prompted to enable notifications
This feature is fully functional for web, mobile web, and mobile apps. If you are using our Android or iOS app you will need to update your app to the most recent version for this feature to work properly.
Note: This feature is considered a core part of Nomi and is available to both free and paid users.
Small QoL Updates
We frequently release small updates to improve our platform. We will briefly list these below:
- We have fixed a few iOS related bugs related to calls dropping
- We have made a couple of small accessibility improvements, with more coming soon
- In preparation for our very large memory update, we have made a couple of small UI changes centered around memory
- Avatar selection improvements
- Accessibility improvements
New Communication Style: Descriptive
In case you missed it, a few weeks ago we released a new Communication Style (Descriptive), which you can set by going to the bottom of your Nomi’s Shared Notes (accessible by pressing the […] to the right of your Nomi’s name)
When turned on, your Nomi will write longer, more detailed, and more vibrant messages. We find this communication style to be noticeable but not overwhelming and think it will lead to much richer conversations and experiences, especially for users who do heavy roleplaying or who want more detail and emotion conveyed in each message
Note: This feature is considered a core part of Nomi and is available to both free and paid users.
